letting the sound wash over me, i suddenly begin to cry.
i can imagine the immensity of the water rushing over my head and crashing around me.

i turn around and begin walking back.

5:14pm: the wind has picked up. my hands are tucked in my pockets, and my gloves are wet - which means they're too cold to put on.

it's dark. i let my eyes adjust. no matter how much time i spend here, nighttime still unsettles me. the shadows all dance at once.

i do love the muffled silence, though. or the cautious noise, rather. in the winter, there is even less movement.

i sleep well that night.
